Of these pop tunes, the styles include: Standards, Jazz, Classic Rock, Oldies, Rhythm & Blues, Country, Broadway and more. I've even been known to pull out some of Classical Music's "greatest hits.”
I've performed with and been associated with many talented and celebrated personalities in the music and entertainment industries. These fine performers include: The Platters, Dwight Yokum, Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme, Gary Glitter, M.C. Hammer, Bob Seger, Sammy Davis, Jr., The Shirelles, Mary Wells and more.
No matter what your live or recorded musical needs, I’m confident that I can fill them, regardless how large or small the occasion. I book myself as a single(background piano or full dance/show) and have bands of all sizes as well. My list of clients and co-workers is large, ever growing, varied and includes, among others: New Line Cinema, Disney, Deere & Co. and the Canadian Consul General of Los Angeles (for the "Canadians Abroad" club).
Lately I've been experimenting, successfully, with music and entertainment contracting. Though I'm new at it, I'm confident that I can deliver, and at a competitive price. As a contractor I can provide clients with specialty bands and solo acts. These acts cover a wide spectrum of music for all kinds of functions and tastes as each client's needs require.
Whether you contract directly with me as a musician, band leader or entertainment broker; whether you are a contractor or entertainment broker or band leader seeking a keyboardist; or whether you're looking for familiar, specialty or original music, live or recorded, I can and will deliver the highest quality -- and within your budget.
Most of my business is about familiar music. However, as a songwriter, I have a treasury of hundreds of original musical selections. I’ve been writing music and lyrics since my early years in school. My original work is highlighted by my early and lasting association with renowned arranger/producer David Carroll, former artists & repertoire chief at Mercury Records, and as a staff writer for the late arranger, Don Costa.*
I now preside over MidCenturyMusic (ASCAP), my original music publishing and record company.
I recently finished recording 2 original CD's on MidCentury. The all original instrumental album, "Your Very Own Soundtrack", contains 11 instrumentals and my vocal album "For Friends & Family" features 5 originals. To purchase copies, contact me on the contact page.
You can also find me on the CD "Cutting Their own Groove" and "Best of Big Daddy" with comedy/rock band Big Daddy on Rhino Records -- available at your local record store.
My home base is North Hollywood, California, with a thriving operation in Palm Springs as well (I spent 9 years living and performing in Palm Springs and recently moved back to the L.A. area). However, my clients are all over the country--mainly in the Western U.S. I've also been known to perform occasionally in my old home town of Chicago.
*Just out of high school, and with one record on the Chicago charts ("Summer U.S.A. by The Dynamics"), I spent a summer working and studying improvisational theatre at Second City, under the tutelage of co-founder Sheldon Patinkin. While at alma mater Northwestern University (majoring in Radio-TV-film), I wrote songs for 4 of the school's famous annual Waa Mu shows. |
